The Statutory Framework of the Early Years Foundation Stage 3:48 states ‘providers must be confident that those responsible for preparing and handling food are competent to do so. In group provision, all staff involved in preparing and handling food must receive training in food hygiene.’
This course will support practitioners to understand their own roles and responsibilities in relation to food safety, the risks associated with foodborne illness and how to reduce these.
This accredited course is an ideal introduction and refresher for those involved in preparing or serving food. Topics covered in this four hour course are essential for the production of safe food and protects your service users and reputation.
Course contents include:
- An awareness of hazards and control measures
- Prevention of contamination
- Temperature controls to ensure safe cooking of food
- Personal hygiene
- Cleaning and disinfection
This HABC Level 1 Award in Food Safety in Catering is internationally recognised and is assessed by a 30 minute multiple-choice examination paper.
Participants must achieve a pass mark of 10 correct answers out of 15 questions.
