This course aims to develop practitioners understanding of what global developmental delay means in terms of delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage.
There are many young children diagnosed with global developmental delay, but what does this mean? What are the causes of developmental delay and what challenges face these young children and their families?
Once we can understand these issues we can ensure we provide appropriate support and provision for young children with global developmental delay.
Course content includes:
- What does the term ‘Global Developmental Delay’ actually mean?
- How does Global Developmental Delay affect how the brain develops personal, emotional, physical, communication and language skills?
- How do we need to adapt our provision in order to support these diagnosed with Global Developmental Delay?
