Wednesday 30th November 2016 9:30 am - 12:30pm
Ganneys Meadow Nursery School & Family centre
Helen Bibby

The EYFS highlights the importance  of children knowing about similarities and differences, being able to talk about the features in their immediate environment and can make observations of animals and plants and explain why some things occur, and talk about changes. At the core of this knowledge and understanding is the development of investigative skills and critical thinking. This course will provide practitioners with the opportunity to engage in a range of activities for children aged 24 – 60+months to develop early scientific investigative skills
This course will consider:
  • How investigative skills develop.
  • How the brain seeks out patterns, categorises sensory information, similarities and differences.
  • Ways of recording ideas
  • Practical ideas to develop back in your setting to develop early investigative and critical thinking skills.
